A. Ghaffar, a Pakistani researcher, received his Ph.D. in Environmental Science at Zhejiang University in 2019. He has studied functional carbon materials for environmental applications, with focus on material structure and performance, contaminant behavior, adsorption, and membrane technology. After his Ph.D., he worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Zhejiang University-University of Illinois Urbana Champaign Institute. His research interests include two-dimensional materials, ultra-thin and responsive membranes, selectivity and transport phenomena, water treatment and (photothermal) desalination. Through his research experience, he tackles environmental challenges to overcome scientific and technical barriers, offering transformative knowledge that holds promise for a sustainable environment.
