Students of the School of Engineering may apply for two destinations, in order of preference.
You are strongly advised to consult the web pages of the partner Universities (paying close attention to the academic course offer) and to read carefully the information given in the notes for each flow in Mobility Online and on the dedicated web pages provided by the Departments or Bachelor's Degree Programmes. In the proposed activity plan to be attached to the application on Uniweb, the student must provide the names (in the original language or in English) of the selected courses.
The destinations are available on the new interactive platform: www.unipd.it/mobility-agreements.
It is compulsory to select your Degree Programme from the Study field drop-down menu. The total number of months indicated in the portal (item Number) for each agreement must be divided by the number of available places (item Total number).
You must note down all the main information (for example: Erasmus code, flow lecturer in charge, isced/study area) in order to select the destination correctly in Uniweb.
- Select destinations according to your degree course
- Check carefully which cycle the agreement was signed for (if the agreements portal shows 1, this means that the agreement is exclusively for students in cycle 1 = bachelor’s degree; if it shows 2, this means that the agreement is exclusively for students in cycle 2 = master’s degree; if it shows 3, this means that the agreement is exclusively for students in cycle 3 = PhD)
- Consider the School/Department carefully (for example, if the student is interested in Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, they must make sure to apply for the correct destination. In other words, for example, if they are in Civil Engineering, they must apply for the flow of Prof. Peruzzo, who has an agreement with the Scuola ETSECCPB)
- Read the notes carefully (if it says thesis only, there is no point in applying with the intention of taking courses)
- Check the language requirements on the host institution’s website under Language requirements and try to understand whether choosing that destination is feasible on the basis of your language skills
- Carefully review the degree courses available on the host institution’s website to understand whether what is offered abroad is useful for your career
- Contact the lecturer in charge of the flow in order to obtain any further information about the host institution
Students can make two choices in order of preference.

Students may indicate two destinations, but it is possible to be awarded only one:
- Anyone who wins their first choice does not remain in the rankings for their second choice (their name is removed from the 2nd choice);
- Anyone who wins their second choice does not remain in the ranking for their first choice (their name is removed from the 1st choice);
- Anyone who is eligible for both choices, and is not a winner, remains in the ranking for both destinations (for any replacements following the refusal of the winners);
- Anyone who is not eligible for one or both choices for administrative or academic reasons appears in the list of ineligible persons at the bottom of the ranking.
The selection and allocation of the winning candidates is defined by the lecturer in charge of the flow on the basis of the data relating to merit (the average grade achieved in the period between the very first enrolment and the time the application is submitted), seniority (starting from the very first enrolment, even if in a different School or Degree Programme from the current one) and the student’s productivity (the credits obtained in the period between the very first enrolment and the time the application is submitted) contained in the Esse3/Uniweb system, as reprocessed in compliance with the Regulations (below) of the School of Engineering. These data cannot be changed in any way. In other words, if the first enrolment took place in another School or Degree Programme different from the current one, that period cannot be excluded from the reprocessing of the data. This affects seniority and, consequently, the score, as expressly decided by the School of Engineering.
The school Regulations provide for the possibility that the lecturer in charge of the flow, where deemed appropriate, may assign additional points to the candidate for certain parameters:
- year of stay abroad: any score assigned by the person in charge to favour, or not, the stay abroad in certain years of the academic career
- language: any score assigned by the person in charge for knowledge of the language of the host institution, based on the certified level of knowledge.
- Degree Programme in relation to the exchange agreement: any score assigned by the person in charge in favour of students enrolled in Degree Programmes corresponding to those agreed with the host institution. If the host institution imposes binding conditions regarding belonging to the area, the person in charge may exclude students outside that area.
- thesis or courses abroad: any score assigned by the person in charge to favour thesis activity or course attendance at the host institution. If the host institution imposes binding conditions on the study activity, the person in charge may exclude students with study plans that are not relevant.
- priority in the allocation of grants to students who have not already benefited from an Erasmus grant within the same study cycle.
- other criteria at the discretion of the person in charge (e.g. honours in the degree, motivation, …).
The final ranking for each flow is defined by the sum of the "base score" and any "lecturer’s score" (if assigned), as indicated in the Regulations, School of Engineering scores.
The Erasmus programme offers students the opportunity to carry out thesis, research or traineeship activities at the host institution abroad.
Anyone intending to carry out such activities at the host institution abroad, using the form available on the website, must submit a letter signed by their internal supervisor in Padua (or, if they are not yet able to define the thesis topic and supervisor, by one of the other persons authorised to sign), in which the latter declares their willingness to allow this teaching activity to be carried out abroad at the chosen host institution.
NB: Students interested in going abroad for a thesis under the Erasmus+ programme for traineeships must contact the Career Service or send an email to stage.estero@unipd.it
No level of language proficiency is required when submitting an Erasmus application in Uniweb.
Nevertheless, applicants must be aware that the host University may legitimately require certified language proficiency at a given level. In that case, language proficiency is considered by the foreign University as an admission requirement and, since this language requirement must be met several months before departure (by 1 April for those leaving in the first semester for some Nordic destinations, for example), students are required to check the webpages of the foreign universities carefully (look under Language requirements for Erasmus students) in order to verify the language requirements set by the host institution. It is advisable to consider carefully whether these can realistically be achieved and, if necessary, to opt for a different choice or destination.
If the foreign University requires specific “language certifications” (for example TOEFL, IELS), students must make their own arrangements.
Winning students must accept their place according to the procedures and deadlines indicated on the page Accettazione posto Erasmus.

Before departure, all students awarded an Erasmus place must submit a Learning Agreement in Uniweb, indicating the educational activities (courses, thesis, etc.) they intend to undertake abroad, by the following dates:
- 15 June for scholarship recipients leaving in the first semester
- 15 October for scholarship recipients leaving in the second semester
After the Learning Agreement has been approved in Uniweb by the lecturer in charge for each degree programme, the student must obtain approval from the destination University
Departments have specific guidelines regarding the Learning Agreement and the recognition procedure. Students must personally check their departments' websites for any section dedicated to Erasmus.
The student may request recognition of the activities carried out abroad only after the Mobility Unit (erasmus@unipd.it) confirms receipt of the Transcript of Records.
The Transcript of Records must correspond exactly to the Learning Agreement. The Mobility Desk of the School of Engineering will then contact the student to start the recognition process.
Recognition of the activity completed abroad must take place in compliance with the approved Learning Agreement and according to the provisions of the Academic Senate resolutions of 13/04/2015 and 15/12/2020.
