Students in the School of Engineering may apply for two destinations, in order of preference.
It is recommended that you consult the web pages of the partner Universities (paying very close attention to the academic course offer) and read carefully the information given in the notes for each flow in Mobility Online and on the dedicated web pages provided by the Departments or Bachelor's Degree programmes. In the proposed activities to be attached to the application on Uniweb, the student must provide the names (in the original language or in English) of the selected courses.
The destinations are available on the new interactive platform: www.unipd.it/mobility-agreements.
You must select your Degree Programme from the Study field drop-down menu. The total number of months indicated in the portal (Number) for each agreement must be divided by the number of places available (Total number).
You must note down all the main information (for example: Erasmus code, flow lecturer in charge, isced/field of study) in order to select the destination correctly in Uniweb.
- Select destinations based on your degree course
- Carefully check the cycle for which the agreement was signed (if in the agreements portal there is the indication 1, this means that the agreement is intended exclusively for students of cycle 1 = bachelor’s degree, if there is the indication 2, this means that the agreement is intended exclusively for students of cycle 2 = master’s degree, if there is the indication 3, this means that the agreement is intended exclusively for students of cycle 3 = PhD)
- Carefully consider the School/Department (for example, if the student is interested in Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, they must make sure to apply for the correct destination. For instance, if they are in Civil Engineering, they must apply for the flow of Prof. Peruzzo, who has an agreement with the ETSECCPB School)
- Read the notes carefully (if there is the indication thesis only, there is no point in applying with the intention of taking courses)
- Check the language requirements on the website of the host institution under Language requirements and try to understand whether choosing that institution is feasible based on your language skills
- Carefully review the degree courses available on the website of the host institution to understand whether what is offered abroad is useful for your career
- Contact the lecturer in charge of the flow in order to obtain any further information about the host institution
Students can make two choices in order of preference.

Students may indicate two destinations, but it is possible to be awarded only one:
- Anyone who is awarded their first choice does not remain in the ranking for their second choice (their name is removed from the 2nd choice);
- Anyone who is awarded their second choice does not remain in the ranking for their first choice (their name is removed from the 1st choice);
- Anyone who is eligible for both choices, and is not awarded, remains in the ranking for both destinations (for any replacements following the refusal of the awarded candidates);
- Anyone who is not eligible for one or both choices for administrative or academic reasons appears in the list of ineligible persons at the bottom of the ranking.
The selection and allocation of the awarded candidates is defined by the lecturer in charge of the flow on the basis of the data relating to merit (the average grade achieved in the period between the very first enrolment and the moment the application is submitted), seniority (starting from the very first enrolment, even if in a different School or Degree Programme from the current one) and the student’s productivity (the credits obtained in the period between the very first enrolment and the moment the application is submitted) contained in the Esse3/Uniweb system, as reprocessed in accordance with the Regulations (below) of the School of Engineering. These data cannot be changed in any way. In other words, if the first enrolment took place in another School or Degree Programme different from the current one, that period cannot be excluded from the reprocessing of the data. This affects seniority and, consequently, the score, in accordance with the express decision of the School of Engineering.
The School Regulations provide for the possibility that the lecturer in charge of the flow, should they deem it appropriate, may assign additional points to the candidate for certain parameters:
- year of stay abroad: any score assigned by the person in charge to favour or not favour staying abroad in certain years of the academic career
- language: any score assigned by the person in charge for knowledge of the language of the host institution, on the basis of the certified level of knowledge.
- Degree Programme in relation to the exchange agreement: any score assigned by the person in charge in favour of students on Degree Programmes corresponding to those agreed with the host institution. If the host institution sets binding conditions regarding belonging to the area, the person in charge may exclude students outside the area.
- thesis or courses abroad: any score assigned by the person in charge to favour thesis activity or courses at the host institution. If the host institution sets binding conditions for the study activity, the person in charge may exclude students with study programmes that are not relevant.
- priority in the allocation of grants to students who have not already benefited from an Erasmus grant within the same study cycle.
- other matters at the discretion of the person in charge (e.g. honours in the degree, motivation, …).
The final ranking for each flow is defined by the sum of the "base score" and any "lecturer score" (if assigned), as indicated in the Regulations, School of Engineering scores.
The Erasmus programme offers students the opportunity to carry out thesis, research or traineeship activities at the host institution abroad.
Those intending to carry out such activities at the host institution abroad, using the form available on the website, must submit a letter signed by their internal supervisor in Padua (or, if they are not yet able to define the thesis topic and supervisor, by one of the other persons authorised to sign), in which the latter declares their willingness to allow this teaching activity to be carried out abroad at the chosen host institution.
NB: Students interested in going abroad for a thesis with the Erasmus+ programme for traineeship must contact the Career Service or send an email to stage.estero@unipd.it
No level of language proficiency is required when submitting the Erasmus application in Uniweb.
Nevertheless, the applicant must be aware that the destination University may legitimately require certified language proficiency at a specific level. In that case, language proficiency is considered by the foreign University as a requirement for acceptance and, since this language requirement must be obtained several months before departure (by 1 April for those leaving in the first semester for some Nordic destinations, for example), the student is required to check the web pages of the foreign universities carefully (look for the section Language requirements for Erasmus students) in order to verify the language requirements requested by the foreign host institution. Students are advised to consider carefully whether it is feasible to meet these requirements and, if necessary, to choose another option or destination.
If the foreign University requires specific “language certifications” (for example TOEFL, IELS), students must make their own arrangements.
The winning students must accept their place according to the procedures and deadlines indicated on the Accettazione posto Erasmus page.

Before leaving, all students awarded an Erasmus place must submit a Learning Agreement in Uniweb indicating the educational activities (courses, thesis, etc.) they intend to follow abroad by the following dates:
- 15 June for scholarship-winning students leaving in the first semester
- 15 October for scholarship-winning students leaving in the second semester
After the Learning Agreement has been approved in Uniweb by the lecturer in charge for each degree programme, the student must obtain the approval of the destination University.
The departments have specific instructions regarding the Learning Agreement and the recognition procedure. Students must personally check their departments' websites for any section dedicated to Erasmus.
Students may request recognition of the activities carried out abroad only after the Mobility Unit (erasmus@unipd.it) confirms receipt of the Transcript of Records.
The Transcript of Records must correspond exactly to the Learning Agreement. The Mobility Desk of the School of Engineering then contacts the student to start the recognition process.
The recognition of the activity completed abroad must take place in compliance with the approved Learning Agreement and according to the provisions of the Academic Senate resolutions of 13/04/2015 and 15/12/2020.
