The combination of classroom training and an intense laboratory activity is one of the main features of this course, which offers theoretical and practical command of the fundamental branches of chemistry, as well as of the basic physical-mathematical ones. Laboratory activities will also include training on how to approach risk and safety management and the use of current scientific instruments. You will also attend specific courses in biological chemistry and chemistry applied to industrial processes and a course called "Training for professional choices" related to entering the job market. You may work in research and analysis laboratories of public and private entities, in the health, energy or conservation of cultural heritage sectors or as a consultant in the field of analysis and control and protection of the environment.

Characteristics and objectives
The Bachelor Degree in Chemistry provides the student with a good preparation in the different fields of chemistry, both in terms of theoretical and experimental aspects. The training course, after providing basic physico-mathematical knowledge, focuses on basic chemical disciplines. Several courses are provided in the most important areas of chemistry, comprising classroom teaching for theoretical and descriptive contents and exercises, and laboratory activity for applied aspects. Intensive laboratory training is envisaged, which, in addition to acquiring the necessary experimental skills, provides adequate knowledge of the typical procedures of chemical laboratories: management and safety standards, and acquaintance with modern instrumentation of chemical interest. Training in chemical disciplines also includes specific courses of biological chemistry and chemistry applied to industrial processes. There is a course called 'Elements for Choice of a Profession' in which various issues related to job market access will be addressed.

Occupational opportunities
The graduate has several job opportunities that mainly concern industry as well as research and analysis laboratories at both private and public companies (Regional Agencies for Environmental Protection, Local Health Companies, National Research Council, Universities, etc.), and also health care, energy and the preservation of cultural heritage. Another perspective is counseling (also as a freelancer, limited to the skills acquired within the bachelor degree), especially in the fields of analysis and control, environmental and civil protection.

From Bachelor's degree to Master's degree
The course gives access to the Master Degree in Chemistry, as detailed in the specific admission notice.
