This advanced course will provide you with an in-depth theoretical preparation in the systemic analysis of the natural environment in all its biotic, abiotic components and their interactions, in addition to mastering the scientific method of investigation and an in-depth knowledge of modern detection equipment, statistical and IT techniques of data analysis and archiving. The learning path of analysis and management of the natural environment is mainly dedicated to those who want to carry out an activity in the environmental sectors at research institutes or management and protection of the environment or carry out a professional activity, also as freelancer;, on the other hand, the path of scientific dissemination and naturalistic training will allow you to deal with scientific communication (scientific journalists, park or museum curators) or training at educational institutions.

Characteristics and objectives
The graduate student in Natural Science can be defined as a 'scholar-worker-researcher' able to integrate the biological and abiological aspects of the environment in which he/she has to operate. His/her interdisciplinary competences allow encompassing environmental problems in a uniform way, where each single component is related to the other ones. At the end of the educational cycle, the graduate can apply the scientific investigation method to different environmental components, and retrace the history of both past environments and human-nature relationships; can evaluate ecosystem structure, functionality, and evolution to restore and maintain natural balances; can efficiently operate in territory.

Occupational opportunities
Graduate students will open to professional areas such as teaching and naturalist divulgation; natural parks, and botanical gardens; environmental analyses and monitoring: in environmental research centers and institutions, where acquired competences will enable them to deal with both physic-chemical-climatological and biological analyses.

From Bachelor's degree to Master's degree
The course gives access to the second-cycle in Science of Nature, according to modalities that will be indicated in the specific admission announcement.
