Environmental protection and land management in favor of sustainable development are at the heart of this master degree course, the only one in this sector in Italy delivered in English; it trains professionals capable of designing and managing engineering solutions with minimal impact on social and physical-environmental contexts. Thanks to scientific and professional knowledge of the interrelationships between various physical, biological and chemical processes involved in complex environmental systems, you will be able to design works aimed at the treatment and disposal of waste and at defending the environment from extreme events, you will know how to prevent situations of degradation and risk to the environment, assessing and controlling the safety of the territory and environmental quality by safeguarding the protection of natural resources, operating in both public and private contexts.

Characteristics and objectives
The Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering represents the natural completion of the three-year Degree in Environment and Territory. Thanks to a multidisciplinary approach, which considers chemical-physical, geological-geotechnical, hydraulic-hydrological, landscape-urban planning, as well as environmental legislation aspects, this Course trains professionals with advanced scientific knowledge of the interrelationships between the natural and anthropic worlds. These professional figures operate in the evaluation of environmental safety and quality in its various articulations, as well as in the protection of natural resources, in the remediation of contaminated environments and in environmental remodelling, also developing specific design and technological strategies.
Occupational opportunities
The main career opportunities concern: environmental protection and land management agencies, public administrations (state, regional, provincial and municipal) and service companies operating in the waste treatment and in water supply and distribution. It is still possible to find employment in public and private research centres, in Companies operating in environmental protection and to practice the profession independently or in partnership.

Double degree opportunity
Students enrolled in this Master's degree programme will be offered the opportunity to apply both for a double degree programme in Environmental Engineering with the renowned Tsinghua University (China) and the opportunity to participate in a T.I.M.E. double degree programme with several member universities between Europe and Asia. At the end of the programme, students will obtain a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering (UNIPD) and a Master's Degree awarded by the host university.
