Complex and Data Driven Chemistry (study track)
Class:
Call for applications - A.Y. 2025/26
- Call One: 2 November 2024 - 2 February 2025 APPLICATION PLATFORM
The Master's degree programme introduces the fundamental concepts of "data-driven chemistry": statistical learning, chemometrics, and design of experiments. These concepts will be contextualized within the broader context of a Master's degree programme in Chemistry. The fundamental areas where data-driven approaches are most applicable includes the collection of chemical data, the synthesis and design of materials and catalysts, the design of synthetic strategies, and the modeling and study of complex chemical systems.
Programme structure
1st Year: Statistical Learning for Chemistry (with coding lab); Characterization of complex chemical systems; Analysis of Complex Chemical Systems; Catalysis; Multiscale Chemical Modeling; Chemometrics; Organic Synthesis Design; Systems Chemistry.
2nd Year: Applied Chemistry; Research Internship Project; Final Master Research Project.
Career opportunities
Graduates can be employed within the fields of development of innovative catalysts and materials, design of complex synthetic strategies, analysis of complex systems (omics, environment, food, etc.), formulation development and process optimization, development of complex chemical and biochemical systems, development of "chemical prediction" systems (drug design, structural biochemistry).
