Characteristics and objectives
The degree course trains second-cycle graduates with specialized skills in theory, history, technique, and production in the field of theater, music, the arts, visual communication, and applied technology in the sector. In addition to theoretical and philological theories in the history of performing arts and music, it provides techniques and methodologies for textual analysis and the elaboration of multimedia productions.
The coursework’s dual character is a distinguishing factor. It entails the acquisition of theoretical methodologies and historical-critical understanding in the field of humanities as well as the obtaining of skills in the most recent forms of technological innovation. Thanks to specific subject teachings, laboratories, seminars, internships, and collaboration within the Veneto territory, the degree course offers enhanced awareness of the practical nature of the conception and realization of multimedia productions, including interdisciplinary activities. The program also trains researchers who are competent in individual subject areas, with a close eye to current communicative strategies and innovative development in the cultural industry.
The degree is composed of a single curriculum within which the following are structured:
-coursework pertaining to the history of theater, which favors a theoretical and methodological approach in the analysis of theatrical texts, concerning the success of the works and their historical, philological, linguistical and performative aspects;
- coursework pertaining more specifically to multimedia productions and cinema. Study is aimed at examining the historical, theoretical, aesthetic, philological, legal, and economic aspects of the history of cinema and new forms of TV series narration. The goal is to enhance aspects of the conception and achievement of media productions and to perfect communicative strategies regarding teaching and training; -coursework pertaining to the history of music and musicology, aimed at developing skills regarding cultural, historical-musical, and environmental heritage, with a comparative philological and critical-analytical perspective, as well as a perspective on teaching and performance.

Occupational opportunities
The degree courses trains:
1. Figures with technical-production skills able to conceive of multimedia productions and, working from an aesthetic-critical awareness, pay close attention to current cultural tendencies. Graduates are then able to design and carry out the technical-production phase of multimedia productions in the fields of audiovisual, broadcasting and new technologies;
2. Cultural and recreational workers engaged in the organization of radio, television, musical, and theatrical productions. These professional figures are capable of performing functions of higher responsibility within public and private institutions and authorities operating in the fields of figurative arts, music, cinema and audiovisual, radio, television, photography, communication, and theatrical performance;
3. Editors, consultants and technicians in all branches of publishing and communication, both print and digital, possessing specific skills for relevant sectors; create, supervise, compose and edit specialized or popular texts that are preparatory for use in exhibition events or as accompaniments to audio and visual documents; manage the design and organization of program schedules for television.
4. Experts in the critique of events, exhibitions, and works in the various relevant sectors; 5. Activity coordinators for dissemination and training in different areas of cultural heritage, both public and private, including school and tourism, since they possess historical-critical expertise in specific artistic expressions.
Graduates are also qualified to:
6. Engage in school teaching, once teacher certification has been completed, and all relevant public examinations required by current legislation have been passed;
7. Continue research studies (research doctorate) and higher professional training (second-level master)
