A field of study that by definition affects us all and involves various aspects of human life: the environment. A multidisciplinary course responding to this varied and complex approaches and perspectives; a course which gives answers, among others, to those seeking solutions to environmental issues, in particular those caused by humans (alterations of habitats, exploitation of resources, pollution, global changes). You will attend lessons in several areas of sciences (chemistry, biology, geology) and in the agricultural and forestry study fields, which will prepare you to make rigorous and reliable scientific assessments. You will deal with issues detection in ecosystems, with monitoring and control of natural resources and with defining the eco-compatibility of consumptions at environmental departments, Regional Environmental Protection Agencies (ARPA) and research and control laboratories.

Characteristics and objectives
The bachelor degree in Environmental Sciences and Technologies (STAm) prepares graduates through an integrated and multidisciplinary education, based on solid scientific basis ensured by the fundamental teachings of mathematics, physics and chemistry. It provides skills in environmental science. Therefore, STAm's graduated presents a systemic culture on the environment, knowing the practices of the scientific method for the analysis of systems, problems and process in term of components and factors concerning the environment, with a particular regard to the one modified by humankind; the graduated is able to collaborate with technical or professional tasks for the detection, classification, analysis, restoration and conservation of abiotic and biotic components of natural ecosystems, both aquatic and terrestrial, but also of systems and processes managed by humankind with the perspective of sustainability and prevention, in order to promote the quality of the environment, localization, diagnostics, restoration and protection of environmental resources.
Occupational opportunities
Those who graduate in Environmental Sciences and Technologies are involved with ecosystems surveys, the monitoring and control of natural resources, the definition of eco-compatibility of uses. Therefore, the job opportunities are in: the public institutes/agencies for environmental planning, protection and monitoring; research and control laboratories both public and private; service companies and in all companies that work in the environmental field.
From Bachelor's degree to Master's degree
The bachelor degree course gives access to the master's degree course in Land And Environment Science And Technology (STAmT), according to the modalities that will be indicated in the specific admission notice.
