Characteristics and objectives
The course provides knowledge and professional skills that guarantee a complete view of the activities and issues related to the production, processing, preservation and storage of food and foodstuffs. In particular, it aims to provide a solid basic preparation that allows the acquisition of the knowledge specifically related to the food sector, providing competences in the areas of processing, safety, quality of food and food-related products for a sustainable and environmentally-friendly food production. The course also provides basic knowledge of economics and management of agri-food business and market, together with regulatory aspects, integrating economic with ethical knowledge.

Occupational opportunities
Graduates can operate in the management and control of production, preservation, transformation, distribution and administration of food and beverages, with the aim of improving the qualitative and commercial aspects of food products and of guaranteeing the sustainability and environmental compatibility of involved processes. Graduates can be employed in companies that deal with the production, processing, preservation and distribution of food products and in the bodies of analysis, control, certification and investigation for the protection of food production. They can also work for providers that supply materials, plants, technological adjuvants, ingredients and semi-finished products for food production.
