Understanding the environment and its transformations, in order to design protective measures and ensure sustainable development: these are the goals of the course, which prepares a new type of engineer, capable of describing the problems of engineering for the defense of the environment, of setting up and conducting experiments by analyzing and interpreting data and understanding the impact of engineering solutions in the social and physical-environmental context. Thanks to a solid training in mathematics, physics and chemistry, you will be able to deal with environmental control and monitoring systems, waste collection and treatment, environmental remediation, waste and water resource management, impact assessment and environmental compatibility of plans and works, turning your skills to the present world to support the future while respecting the past.

Characteristics and objectives
This course prepares professionals who are able to describe engineering problems for land protection, to set up and conduct experiments by analysing and interpreting observed data and to understand the impact of engineering solutions to society and the environment. Furthermore, graduates in environmental engineering collaborate on the design of components, systems, and processes of environmental remediation, as well as interventions for soil and land protection and environmental preservation.

Occupational opportunities
Graduates in environmental engineering will be involved in control and monitoring systems of the land and the environment, waste collection and treatment, environmental remediation, operation of gas and water supply systems, assessment of environmental impacts and compatibility of plans and facilities.

From Bachelor’s degree to Master’s degree
This course gives access to the Master of Environmental Engineering (offered in English), according to the procedures that will be indicated in the related admission notice.
