Since its introduction into the medical field in 1896, radiology has assumed an increasingly central role in clinical decision making. Radiology began with two-dimensional imaging then three-dimensional imaging with the discovery of new technologies and radiotherapy techniques. This course will allow you to learn the fundamentals of the functioning of radiology and its main clinical applications. You will learn about new technologies, techniques, and materials needed in the examination and therapeutic based treatments used in radiation. The practical approach to the course offers the necessary skills not only to be able to perform tests and radiotherapy treatments but how to do it with the maximum of safety standards for both the operator and the patient. The course allows you to enter the workplace in both public and private structures.

Characteristics and objectives
Radiology is an area of Medicine that provides and uses images (real, reconstructed or virtual) of the patient's body to obtain information useful for diagnosis; radiotherapy uses ionizing radiation to treat diseases. The course teaches the principles of physics, biology, chemistry, biochemistry, anatomy, physiology, pathology and the main clinical applications; it deepens the study of technologies, techniques and materials necessary to perform examinations and therapeutic treatments using radiation. Students learn about the effects of radioactive substances, radiation protection and environmental decontamination procedures, general principles of computer science and computer applications in radiology.

Occupational opportunities
Those who graduate in Medical Radiology Techniques, imaging and radiotherapy obtain the qualification to perform those interventions that require the use of radiation sources, thermal energy, ultrasonic, nuclear magnetic resonance imaging on prescription and in collaboration with the doctor. He also carries out activities in public or private health care facilities as an employee or in the exercise of free profession.

From Bachelor's degree to Master's degree
The Course gives access to the Master's degree course in Sciences of Healthcare Professions Diagnostic Techniques, according to the modalities that will be indicated in the specific admission notice.
