Understanding the environment and its transformations, in order to design protective measures and ensure sustainable development: these are the goals of the course, which prepares a new type of engineer, capable of describing the problems of engineering for the defense of the environment, of setting up and conducting experiments by analyzing and interpreting data and understanding the impact of engineering solutions in the social and physical-environmental context. Thanks to a solid training in mathematics, physics and chemistry, you will be able to deal with environmental control and monitoring systems, waste collection and treatment, environmental remediation, waste and water resource management, impact assessment and environmental compatibility of plans and works, turning your skills to the present world to support the future while respecting the past.

Characteristics and objectives
This course educates students on the engineering method in dealing with territory protection from anthropic pressure anthropic pressure and from actions of natural origin. Anthropic action derives from productive and industrial activities, from urban expansion and from the development of territorial infrastructures. Therefore, the design of pollution control systems and processes, waste treatment, characterization of secondary raw materials, supply, treatment and distribution of water resources are addressed. Interventions to protect the soil from natural actions include the study of hydrogeological, hydraulic and seismic disasters.

Occupational opportunities
The three-year graduates will be involved in the context of environmental control and monitoring, waste collection and treatment, environmental remediation, land stabilization and remodeling, design and management of water networks, and assessment of the environmental compatibility of territorial infrastructures.

From Bachelor's degree to Master's degree
The bachelor's degree gives access to the international Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, all taught in English. The access procedures for international students are managed by a specific office (Global Engagement).
