Characteristics and objectives
The course trains engineers with solid technical knowledge base in the areas of electrical, information and mechanical engineering, able to design, implement and manage devices and systems with high integration between mechanical and electronic parts. The main objective is therefore an interdisciplinary preparation through which the mechatronic engineer is capable of integrating, into an electromechanical project, modern sensor technology, electronic actuators, electric drives that are controlled in real time by programmable electronic devices, as currently required by various industry sectors of automation, manufacturing, energy, robotics and automotive. The mechatronics engineer is a system engineer, a relatively new profession, highly appreciated in the dynamic job market, where it is crucial to know how to manage and integrate, at all stages of design, the multi-disciplinary (electronics, informatics and mechanical) skills that are the specific characteristics of this mechatronic degree.
Occupational opportunities
The main career opportunities are in the electromechanical, mechanical and electronics industries with advanced automation departments that design and manufacture mechanical robotic, automotive and aircraft systems, in manufacturing industries for automated production and in industries making complex and highly automated equipment, such as automated warehouses, sheet metal processing, automatic food packaging, textile machines, etc.
From Bachelor's degree to Master's degree
The bachelor degree in Mechatronics Engineering provides access to the graduate courses in Mechatronics Engineering and other graduate courses in the industrial and information technology area, with rules that will be indicated in the specific admission notices.
