Characteristics and objectives
The graduate is an operator of the health professions in the area of rehabilitation, who carries out, with professional ownership and autonomy, activities aimed at prevention, treatment and rehabilitation as well as functional evaluation procedures, towards individuals and the community; these are competencies included in the professional profile.
The graduate is able to identify the health needs of patients who need it, with particular attention to the expectations of the individual, the family and the socio-environmental situation; evaluates the difficulties and resources regarding functionality, autonomy, and integration into the living environment; chooses the appropriate interventions to help the patient achieve the maximum possible recovery of skills and competences in the motor, cognitive, motivational and occupational fields. In addition, the graduate implements specific interventions and educates family and caregivers to promote the autonomy of the person and proposes the choice and creation of adaptive aids and environmental changes. He/she verifies the achievement of the goals and objectives set for the best possible quality of life in the patient's daily life, in the home, school, work and social environment, and assesses the quality of the results and of the rehabilitation interventions carried out. Furthermore, those who graduate can use at least one language of the European Union, in addition to Italian, in the specific area of competence and for the exchange of general information.
Occupational opportunities
Those who have obtained the degree carry out activities aimed at the prevention, treatment and functional rehabilitation of people with temporary or permanent disabilities, working in a team with other socio-health professionals; finds employment in social-health structures, public or private, as an employee or as a private practitioner; can carry out study and research activities, take care of continuing education training and professional updating activities.
From Bachelor's degree to Master's degree
The undergraduate course gives access to the master's degree course in rehabilitation sciences of the health professions, according to the procedures that are indicated in the specific admission notice.
