Over the past century, mortality rates for both the mother and baby during childbirth have progressively decreased, also demonstrating the quality of healthcare offered. In addition to doctors (such as the gynaecologist) and nurses midwives play an important role by supporting both the mother and child at the time of delivery. With this course, you will learn the fundamentals of the female anatomy, physiology, and the pathology of childbirth. The practical approach will prepare you in carrying out both natural and induced labour, and assist the infant and mother by supporting gynaecological interventions and performing any manoeuvers in case of emergency.
