Historic buildings

Built in very different periods, from the Middle Ages to the contemporary age, the many buildings owned by the University bear witness to a centuries-long history.

Some still preserve precious traces of their medieval origin. At Palazzo del Bo you can admire the bell tower, the wooden ceilings of the First-cycle/Bachelor's degree Halls of Medicine and Letters, and some fragments of ancient frescoes; in the Hall of the Giants of Palazzo Liviano the portrait of Francesco Petrarca is still visible, albeit extensively reworked; while at Palazzo Maldura a mural decoration of the Carrara age has emerged. The former Ruzante Theatre, overlooking the Tito Livio Riviera, also preserves an architectural structure of medieval origin.

In the following centuries, the University of Padova has continued to expand its architectural and cultural heritage, enriching itself with new locations that still reflect the history and evolution of the institution.
