Carlo Fantozzi received the Laurea, summa cum laude, (2000) and the Ph.D.degree (2004) both in Computer Engineering from the University of Padova, Italy. From January 2004 to September 2007 he was at CAREL S.p.A., where he worked, with increasing levels of responsibility, on software architectures for embedded systems. Since October 2007 he is Assistant Professor at the Department of Information Engineering, University of Padova. Within the Department, he is active in initiatives that put students in contact with industries: chiefly, he is head of the coordination commission for internships and representative of the Department in the University-Industry "ICT Lab" initiative. He is currently responsible for the course "Embedded Systems Programming", centered on the design of mobile applications. His research expertise is in the fields of computer science (chiefly in models of computation), machine learning, and embedded systems. His current research interests are in applications of the aforementioned topics with a focus on scenarios where mobile systems are involved and/or the application has cultural or social implications. Carlo Fantozzi has authored or coauthored over 30 papers, nearly all of them appearing in international, peer-reviewed conferences and journals. He was co-recipient of best paper awards at IEEE IPDPS 2004 (Algorithm Track) and NEDSI 2013 (Robert Pearson Memorial Award for Best Paper for Contribution to Theory).
