Pierpaolo Cesaroni is Associate Professor of Political Philosophy (SPS/01) at the Department of Philosophy, Sociology, Education and Applied Psychology (FISPPA) at the University of Padua. Since the 2011/2012 academic year, he has taught Political Philosophy and History of Political Philosophy for the Bachelor's degree in Philosophy.
He earned his degree in Philosophy (2004) and later his PhD in Political Philosophy (2008) from the University of Padua. From 2009 to 2011, he held a research fellowship at the Department of Philosophy at the University of Padua. He has carried out study and research periods in Munich, Paris, Caen, and Berlin, and has presented papers at conferences and academic workshops in Italy and abroad (France, Germany, Spain).
Since 2004, he has collaborated with the Political Concepts Research Group in Padua, and for several years he has co-coordinated, together with Sandro Chignola, a doctoral seminar within the PhD Program in Philosophy at the University of Padua.
He is the author of three monographs: La vita dei concetti. Hegel, Bachelard, Canguilhem (Quodlibet, Macerata 2020), La distanza da sé. Politica e filosofia in Michel Foucault (Cleup, Padua 2010), and Governo e costituzione in Hegel. Le Lezioni di Filosofia del Diritto (Franco Angeli, Milan 2006). He has also published journal articles and book chapters on the political philosophy of G.W.F. Hegel, Michel Foucault, and Alain Badiou.
