Dr. Carla Quinci holds a PhD in Interpreting and Translation Studies (Doctor Europaeus) from the University of Trieste (Italy).
Since March 2020, she is research fellow in English Language and Translation at the University of Padova (Italy), where she teaches Translation strategies (BA programme in Languages, Literatures and Cultural Communication) and English-Italian Specialised Translation 1 (MA programme in Modern Languages for the International Communication and Cooperation). She has also worked as adjunct lecturer at the University of Trieste, where she has been teaching English-Italian Translation, Information Technology applied to Translation, Advanced Technologies for Translation and Interpreting and Corpus Analysis from 2015 to 2017.
Her main research interests and publications are in the field of translation and revision, with special reference to (a) the acquisition, development and definition of translation competence, (b) the definition, classification and assessment of translation errors, (c) corpus linguistics, (d) empirical research in Translation Studies, (e) IT applied to translation and revision.
Her MA dissertation and PhD thesis were awarded the 2011 CIUTI Prize and 2016 CIUTI Award, respectively.
Dr. Quinci took part to several international conferences and completed a three-month research stay at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain), where she worked with the PACTE research group.
