Maria Teresa Musacchio is Full Professor of English language, linguistics and translation at the University of Padova. Prof. Musacchio began her professional career as a translator of books and economics and social sciences and worked later as lexicographer and terminologist on bilingual and monolingual dictionaries. She started her academic career in 1995 as an Assistant Professor at the University of Trieste teaching and researching in the translation of scientific documents. She joined the University of Padova in 2002 and was promoted to Full Professor in 2018. She runs postgraduate courses in scientific translation and English linguistics. Her research is focused on the public communication of science, especially of translations from English into Italian, but also German and Spanish, in a range of subject areas. She is consulted by the EU and Italian enterprises on matters of translation and translator training. She was awarded the Monselice Luigi Radici prize for scientific translation (1993).
