Viviana Nosilia obtained her degree in Slavic Philology at The University of Padova. She then received her PhD in 2008 from the University of Ca’ Foscari Venice. Her thesis was on the interfaith controversy between Catholics of the Latin church, Orthodox and Uniates in the eastern lands of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth from 1577 to 1647. In 2011 she became researcher (lecturer) in Slavonic studies at the university of Padova. Associate professor of Slavic Studies since November 2020. She is currently working on interfaith controversy in the Eastern borderlands of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in the 16th-17th centuries and contemporary Polish literature of Eastern and Western borderlands.
