Associate Professor for the scientific sector "Design and methods of industrial engineering" (ING-IND / 15), he belongs to the Department of Management and Engineering.
As regards the teaching activity, he teaches "Technical Drafting And Computer-Aided Design" and "Design of Mechanical Assemblies", in the frame of the first cycle degree in Product Innovation Engineering. He held the Modeling Methods module of the course "Modeling Methods and Additive Manufacturing Technologies", for the second cycle degree in Product Innovation Engineering. In 2020-21 he is activating the new course of "Advanced Geometric Modeling Tools and Methods", for the second cycle degree in Product Innovation Engineering.
On the research side, he initially focused on Geometric Metrology and related industrial applications, in the field of Quality Control and Product Innovation, until he obtained the PhD degree in Industrial Production Engineering, in 1997. Since 2001, as Assistant Professor, the lines of research have included geometric modeling and innovative methods in mechanical design and virtual prototyping of industrial products; Geometric Product Specification (GPS) and Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T); geometric characterization and Reverse Engineering, rapid prototyping and Additive Manufacturing and, again, Geometric Metrology.
This research line was further developed in the form of university spin-off, Unilab Laboratori Industriali Srl, of which he is the founder, and which he lead up to the achievement of the status of accredited Calibration Center (now Accredia), holding the role of scientific manager and responsible of the measurement and calibration center, until 2009.
The other lines of research were deepened in the form of collaborative research projects, in synergy with public bodies and private companies, funded from European, national and regional institutions, giving this activity a strong connotation of innovation and of technology transfer: in particular, in the biomedical, automotive and production technology sectors.
In short, the teaching activity carried out in the period 2001-2021 consists of more than 50 courses in industrial themes, based in Padua, Vicenza, Longarone and Feltre. In this context he has been supervisor of over 100 degree theses while the research activity has led to over 100 publications in scientific and technical journals and international conferences.
