Cristina Zaggia is Associate Professor of Experimental Pedagogy at the University of Padua and co-director of the review “Adult Learning. Strategies, methods and contexts”.
In 2008 she coordinated “Provalor”, a project funded by the Region of Veneto at the University of Padua, which aimed to evaluate all the activities that were conducted by the guidance organisation and funded by the same Region.
After the PhD, she took a place as researcher (2008-2011) and she continued studying the topic of evaluation, adding the focus on learning and competences assessment. In particular, she studied the tools of portfolio and “bilan des competences” at the University of Saint Denis in Paris. During the years 2010 and 2011 she coordinated a project funded by the Region of Veneto at the University of Padua “Progettazione e sperimentazione di strumenti per la validazione e la certificazione delle competenze nei corsi di laurea universitari di secondo livello”, which has the aim of designing and evaluating some bachelors and master’s degrees conceived with a competences approach. The role of the coordinator was to assist other professors in redefining the courses in terms of competences and learning outcomes, to help them change their methods of teaching and assessment and to promote new methods to involve students in the teaching, learning and assessment methods.
At the same time, she coordinated another project funded by the Region of Veneto at the University of Padua “MOIRC - Modello Operativo Integrato per il Riconoscimento e la Certificazione delle Competenze”, aimed to assess, validate and certificate competences at University. The role of the coordinator was to assist in the definition of the learning outcomes of the courses involved in the project and to help the students express their implicit knowledge, abilities and competences in order to recognise them in terms of credits. Finally, we experimented a method to validate informal and non formal learning at University, by creating a specific model of adults portfolio.
During the years 2015 and 2016 she took part in “L’organizzazione della didattica. Uno studio esplorativo comparato. Metodi – Organizzazione – Qualità (MOQ)”, a project funded by Anvur at the University of Milan. The aim of the project was to understand how study programmes are conceived, developed and evaluated in three different countries (Italy, England and Switzerland).
This last aspect was looked into in more depth in Cristina Zaggia’s own research (2017) concerning the teaching and learning centres of several French-speaking universities in Switzerland.
In 2018 she took part as consulent at the regional project "Boot camp for the Job" and she was responsible for the DOR project "Employability and soft skills".
