Prof. Severino Segato is graduated summa cum laude in Agricultural Sciences and he is PhD in Animal Sciences. Since 1995 he carried out research activity at the Dept of Animal Science of the University of Padova as PhD student, post-PhD and junior researcher being occupied about dairy cow feeding, meat quality and aquaculture. In 1996 he spent a 6-month study and research period at Dept. of Animal Husbandry - Wageningen Agricultural University (NL). Since 2015 he is associate professor (AGR/19 - Animal Science and Technology) at the Dept of Animal Medicine, Production and Health of the University of Padova. Recently, he is involved in teaching Biostatistics and Animal production and food quality at the degree (3 years) of “Safety and Hygiene of Food Products”. He is also assistant professor of Food Quality at the degree (5 years) of “Veterinary Medicine”. The main scientific tasks regarding productive performances, quality and safety of animal products, expecially from ruminants. Another challenge is related to the use of chemometric and multivariate statistical techniques in the food authentication.
The scientific production is documented by over 180 publications in national and international journals, 66 of those are peer-reviewed articles belonging to the Scopus database (h-index = 20; total citation = 1092). He conducts also scientific dissemination activities as a speaker in conference, congress, workshop organized by academic institutions, producers organizations, public authorities. He is reviewer of many peer-reviewed scientific journal of agricultural, veterinary and food science
