Research Interests
Her main fields of interest include multimodal retinal imaging and morpho-functional evaluation in many retinal-choroidal diseases, mainly age-related macular degeneration and geographic atrophy, diabetic retinopathy, retinal dystrophies and ocular oncology. She has particularly worked on new diagnostic techniques (microperimetry, fundus autofluorescence, indocyanine green angiography, optical coherence tomography (OCT) and OCT angiography), on different treatment modalities (radiation, thermotherapy, threshold and subthreshold photocoagulation, intraocular drugs) on retinal and choroidal circulation and on retinal function.
She has organized conferences and courses on these topics during the annual meetings of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) and she has been an invited speaker in many national and international meetings.
