Marco Noro was born in 1975. He gains his Master Degree in Managemet Engineering 2000 and his PhD in Energetics in 2004 (University of Padova).
From october 2015 Marco Noro is Associate Professor of Applied thermodinamics and heat transfer (Fisica tecnica).
He was Assistant Professor of Applied thermodinamics and heat transfer (Fisica tecnica) (Management Engineering - Ingegneria gestionale degree, University of Padova) from 2007 till 2015.
From 8 November 2020 he is qualified as Full Professor (ASN Abilitazione scientifica nazionale per la prima fascia - Legge 240/2010).
He teaches "Applied thermodinamics and heat transfer" and "Applied acoustics" courses (Engineering and Management, first cycle degree - University of Padova).
He teaches also in the courses of "Energy management" (Gestione dell’energia) and "Renewable energy management" (Gestione delle energie rinnovabili) (Engineering and Management, second cycle degree - University of Padova).
He teaches also in courses financed by European Union and Regione Veneto.
His research field is energy efficiency in buildings, cogeneration, heat pumps, renewables, HVAC.
He participated two research projects founded by EU and Veneto Region and to a number of research projects founded by public and private companies.
Marco Noro is author of more then 220 papers published in national and international journals and conference proceedings. He has been invited speaker in international and national conferences.
He is member of the competitive examinations board (Commissione Esami di Stato) of the University of Padova in 2008 and 2010. Actually he is member of the "Commissione test di ingresso" of the "Scuola di Ingegneria" and he is Scientific Coordinator of the "Commissione biblioteca" of the Department of Management and Engineering.
He is reviewer of some the most important international journals in the field of energy.
He was member of the Scientific Committee of international conferences:
- “Sources/Sinks alternative to outside Air for Heat Pump and Air-Conditioning Techniques” (Padua, 5-7 April 2011);
- “International Sorption Heat Pump Conference” (6-8 April 2011);
- 48° Aicarr International Congress “” (Baveno-Stresa,21-23 September 2011).
He was Editor of international conferences:
- “5th International Conference on Sustainable Energy Technologies” (Vicenza, 30 August-1 September 2006);
- “Sources/Sinks alternative to outside Air for Heat Pump and Air-Conditioning Techniques” (Padova, 5-7 April 2011);
- “International Sorption Heat Pump Conference” (6-8 April 2011).
He is active member of AiCARR (Italian Association of HVAC engineers) since 1999, member of the Scientific Committee of the Aicarr Journal from 2004, member of the Aicarr Board during 2008-2010, 2020-2023 and 2024-2026. During 2024-2026 he is President of the Culture Commission.
He is author of some books of the AiCARR technical collection:
- author of the second volume on the fuel cells (two editions in 2003 and 2010);
- co-author of the fifth volume on the Italian electric sector (2005);
- author of two chapters of the Aicarr HVAC Guide (2010);
- co-author of the eighteenth volume on the heat pumps cold sources (2012).
He won the "Premio Sanguineti" (AiCARR best paper) in 2010 and received a recommendation in 2006. He won the fourth edition of "HVAC plant awards" by Reed Business Information in 2007.

Marco Noro does his scientific activity in the field of energy saving technologies applied to production and utilization of thermal and electric energy in residential, tertiary and industry:
- Experimental and theoretic analysis of the Urban Heat Island in a medium city of Italy
- Theoretic study and design of phase change material storage tanks in solar cooling systems.
- Energy and economic analysis of different heat pump systems for space heating.
- Theoretic and experimental study of energy performances of an integrated multi-source heat pump system for a school building.
- Energetic, economic and maintenance issues of a real gas driven heat pump plant.
- Energy and economic analysis of multi-source heat pump systems.
- Energetic and economic savings of free cooling with direct and indirect evaporative cooling in different climates
