RESEARCH ACTIVITY
-Origin and evolution of planetary systems: planetary migration by tidal interaction with a circumstellar disk, planet-planet scattering, planetesimal accumulation
-Circumstellar disks: hydrodynamical modeling of disk with SPH and grid codes in particular around binary star systems. Influence of the disk eccentricity on planetesdimal accumulation.
-Formation and evolution of debris disks: effects of planetary perturbations and ISM flux on the disk morphology for both collision and transport dominated disks.
-Origin and dynamics of Trojan asteroids: mathematical tools for the stability analysis applied to Trojan populations around different planets. Capture models based on the mass growth of the planets and resonant evolution of planet pairs.
-YORP and non-gravitational forces: modeling the rotational dynamics of NEOs and small Main Belt asteroids under the effects of YORP and collisions. Dynamics of minor bodies under the effects of non-gravitational forces like gas drag, Poyinting-Robertson e Yarkovsky.
Team member of CASSINI--HUYGENS, CHEOPS and PLATO missions and co-investigator of ROSETTA, BEPI-COLOMBO and JUICE missions (ESA).

Frequent peer reviewer for international journals like A&A, ApJ, AJ, MNRAS, Nature, Science, and member of panels for grant awarding (DFG, NASA).

Author of more than 270 papers on international journals and chapters in review and text books.

Active collaborations with the Observatoire de Paris (France), the Planetary Science Institute (Tucson, USA), The University of Colorado at Boulder (CO, USA) and the LANL (Los Alamos National Laboratories, NW, USA).
