EDUCATION.
1995: Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Padova, Italy.
1991: Degree in Pharmacy (110/110 cum laude) at the University of Padova, Italy.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE.
2014-present: Associate Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the Department of Pharmaceutical and Pharmacological Sciences, University of Padova, Italy.
1997-2014: Assistant Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Padova, Italy.

1995-1997: A.I.R.C. (Italian Association for Cancer Therapy) Fellow.
1994: Visiting Researcher at the Curie Institute, Paris (France).
1991-1994: Ph.D. program in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Padova, Italy.
SCIENTIFIC and RESEARCH INTERESTS.
Current research interests are in Bioinorganic and Medicinal Chemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology. Her work focuses especially on the development of target-specific anticancer metallodrugs. A close eye is thrown to the recognition of the chemical features and molecular mechanisms responsible for the antitumor activity of new Cu(I,II), Pt(II), Pd(II), Ru(II,III) and Au(I,III) complexes by means of suitable subcellular, cellular and animal model systems. The studies, being revolved around the identification of structure-activity relationships (SARs), aim at the design of novel anticancer agents with improved pharmacological properties in comparison with the reference chemotherapeutic drugs.
CM is co-author of more than 130 scientific publications and 4 invited reviews in peer-reviewed international journals, more than 150 communications in National and International Conferences (some of which upon invitation).
She is co-inventor in 4 pharmaceutical patents concerning the use of metal compounds as antitumor agents.

CM cooperates with national and international chemical and pharmaceutical companies and she has established collaborations with different international University. She received funds from public institutions and private companies for the development of several research projects.
