Dr. Giovanna Marchetti is a Researcher at the Department of Private Law and Critique of Law of the School of Law at the University of Padua. Before, she was University Assistant at the Institute for Italian Law of the University of Innsbruck. She has held various visiting researcher appointments at the University of Seville and the University of Sussex. She has been recipient of two research grants from the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law (Hamburg).
Her main areas of research and publishing are obligation law, contract law, trust law. She has authored a monograph on contractual liability and has published a number of articles in Italian, as well as English and Spanish. At the University of Padua she teaches European Contract law and tort law. She is also a member of ELI – European Law Institut and Associazione civilisti italiani.
