After earning a degree in Business Administration from the University of Parma in November 1998, I completed a postgraduate programme in "Financial and Business Consulting" at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan.
I began my professional career at Centrobanca S.p.A. in Milan, focusing on syndicated loans. I then joined Ambrosetti Stern Stewart Italia as a project manager, where I provided strategic and management consulting services to clients in the utilities and banking sectors.
Later, I worked at Istifid S.p.A. (a fiduciary and auditing firm), where I launched a new Family Office service and advised on organisational structures, particularly regarding compliance with Legislative Decree 231/2001 and stock option plans.
During this time, I also earned an MSc in Financial Management from the University of London, SOAS, CeFiMS.
Driven by a growing academic interest, I left the professional field to pursue a PhD in "Financial Markets and Intermediaries" at the University of Bologna. After completing my doctorate, I began my academic career at the University of Parma.
Since December 2008, I have had the honour of serving at the University of Padua as a researcher and now as Associate Professor of Financial Intermediation and Corporate Finance. I currently teach a range of courses listed in the linked programme overview.
Former Director of the Master’s Programme in Asset Management, I have coordinated the University’s International Summer School "Microfinance in Action" in Nepal since 2015, in collaboration with the University Centre for Human Rights.
From 2021 to 2023, I served as the Rector’s Delegate for internships in the Master’s Programme in "Human Rights and Multi-level Governance". Since 2022, I have been the Coordinator of the University of Padua's PhD Programme in "Human Rights, Society and Multi-level Governance".
I believe that a researcher's duty extends beyond lectures and publications. It lies in a continuous pursuit of truth—through methodological doubt, tolerance for differing views, and public engagement. Only through this commitment can we truly contribute to the progress and well-being of society.
"And I shall make public the little I have learned so that someone more knowledgeable than I may correct me and, through their work, reveal the truth and expose my error. In this way, I may at least rejoice in being a tool through which truth has come to light”.
