Marco Guglielmi is a researcher at the University of Padova, where he teaches sociology courses. In 2019, he obtained an international PhD from the same academic institution jointly with Western Sydney University and other European universities. He has been a research fellow at the Center for Religious Studies of Bruno Kessler Foundation in Trento and a visiting student at the University of Zagreb. His main research interests include sociological topics such as religious diversity and migration, religion and human rights, and interreligious dialogue. In particular, his studies have focused on the transformations regarding Eastern Orthodoxy and Italian Catholicism.
He has participated in research projects funded through national and international competitive calls, and has presented his research in international scientific associations such as the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion (SSSR), the International Society for the Sociology of Religion (ISSR), the European Academy of Religion (EuARe), the International Orthodox Theological Association (IOTA), and at the Universities of Oxford and Vienna. His publications include articles and chapters published in national and international journals and volumes and a monograph published by Palgrave Macmillan.
