Background
Federico Gennaro started his research career in 2015 in Zurich, Switzerland, at the Institute of Human Movement Sciences and Sport, Department of Health Sciences and Technology, ETH Zurich, where he was awarded his doctoral degree in 2020. Afterwards, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Italian Institute of Technology, at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, and at the Department of Neurology at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), before joining the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Padua for his current position as a researcher in February 2023.
His research interests focus on the neurophysiological mechanisms underpinning the motor control of human locomotion. He is particularly keen on investigating gait-related electrophysiological modulations, assessed through mobile brain-body imaging technique by simultaneously measuring wireless electroencephalography with other wearable sensors (i.e., electromyography, inertial measurement units).
In his free time, Federico is an avid scuba diver, enthusiastic about being underwater whenever possible. He holds the divemaster qualification and he's currently continuing his training to become a technical and cave diver.
