Maurizio Faccio is currently Full Professor of Industrial Systems and Logistics at the University of Padua. His research is focused on industrial systems design and management, development and integration of advanced manufacturing and logistic technologies, design of the assembly system, industrial logistics, warehouse design and management. He has published over 150 indexed in Scopus, in international journals and conference proceedings. Since 2020 he is counted in the Top 2% Scientists by the Elsevier /Stanford University list. He serves as Associate Editor in the Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing (Springer)and he is part of the Editorial Board of Assembly Automation (Emerald) and of other International Journals. He is a member of the International Technical Committee TC 5.1. Manufacturing Plant Control (IFAC) and Scientific Vice-chair "Plant Operations Management" as well as in the Scientific Committee of many International Conferences on Production and Logistics Research. He carried out research activity in national and international research programs and leads numerous research collaborations with Italian and European companies.

Research Area
The research activities of Maurizio Faccio are focused on industrial systems and on logistics. In particular: design and management of industrial plants, assembly and production systems design and optimization, inside plant logistics design and optimisation, warehousing, materials management, supply chain design and management, sustainability in production systems and distribution network design and management design, automation design in assembly, industrial production and logistics.
