Dall’Acqua Stefano, graduated in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology cum laude in 1998 at the University of Padova. PhD (2003) in pharmaceutical Sciences working on the chemistry of natural products, defending a thesis titled “Bioactive compounds from Italian Plants”. Research grant at the Department of Pharmaceutical Science University of Padova. Post-Doc grant at the same Department with a research program entitled “Isolation and characterization of estrogenic compounds from natural sources”. Research grant in 2006 with a project “Bioactive compounds from Nepalese medicinal plants”. Researcher from of October 2007 (SSd CHIM08) at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Padova.
Teaching activity as Assistant professor at University of Padova for Pharmacy, Medicinal Chemistry and Thecnology, Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences. The research activity deal with the medicinal chemistry and mainly with the chemistry of natural products. Main topics are the isolation and structural determination of natural compounds with high focus on 1D and 2D NMR and MS spectroscopy and the development of analytical methods for the determination of natural products in complex mixtures (HPLC-DAD, HPLC-MS, UPLC-DAD-MS, HPLC-Fluorescence, HPLC-ELSD, GC-FID, GC-MS). Chemical classes of natural compounds investigated are lignans, xanthones, alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, terpenoids, lipids. Further research activity deal with in vivo absorbtion of natural products and in vivo and clinical effects of phytochemicals as well as study of phytochemical effects by metabolomic approach. Author and co-author in more than 100 published papers.
