Lorenza Da Re is Associate Professor of Experimental Pedagogy (PAED-02/B, formerly M-PED/04) at the University of Padua’s Department of Philosophy, Sociology, Education and Applied Psychology (FISPPA).
She has a PhD in Pedagogical, Educational and Instructional Sciences at the University of Padua and in Education at the University of La Laguna in Spain (winner of the 2018 Extraordinary Doctoral Award). She has been a research fellow (2010 to 2012 and 2016 to 2020) on projects related to guidance and tutoring in a university setting, focusing in particular on peer education.
Her studies, supported by the adoption of a mixed and multiple method, are concerned primarily with topics relating to educational and vocational guidance, university tutoring, truancy and university dropout, research methodology in the sphere of education, the development of life skills and soft skills, and educational leadership.
She teaches educational leadership, career-oriented soft skills, educational design and evaluation and research methodology. In the course of her career, besides holding a number of chairs, she has been involved in various teaching activities (seminars and lectures on PhD courses, teaching workshops, supplementary teaching and seminar activities in degree and master's courses in Italy and abroad).
Between 2010 and 2022 she coordinated Junior Tutors of the School of Human and Social Sciences and Cultural Heritage (Educational and Instructional Areas) and she was Coordinator for the School from 2022 to 2024. Since 2014, she has been scientific coordinator for the Formative Tutoring Programme, a training model she herself created and brought from Spain to the University of Padua, for which she coordinates the activities of Staff Tutors, Peer Tutors and Service Tutoring, designing and running instruction courses for those involved, as well as supervising and evaluating activities (https://www.unipd.it/tutorato-formativo).
She has been the University Advisor on pedagogical innovation in Guidance, Tutoring and Placement (a.y. 2021-22 to 2023-24), scientific coordinator on Padua University PNRR projects (a.y. 2023-24), and member of the CRUI Guidance Committee (a.y. 2021-22 and 2023-24).
Among her main research projects are: Strategic University Project, Year 2008 "Learning difficulties and disorders from compulsory school to university: detection, action and services for the territory", 5th Unit - "Learning difficulties of university students enrolled on three-year degree courses in the light of tutoring and guidance experiences seen hitherto" - STPD08HANE_005. University project, year 2015 (CPDA 157974) entitled "Formative Tutoring: an integrated tutoring model for the empowerment of university students" at the FISPPA Department of the University of Padua.
She is currently Principal Investigator on the PRIN “Evaluation strategies to contrast university drop-out through empowerment and to design educational and career guidance pratices” (https://prin2022unipdunifg.wordpress.com/).
She has been a contributor at more than 100 national and international conferences (including symposiums, speeches and posters). She has authored more than 120 research outputs including monographs, edits, encyclopaedia entries, articles in scientific and top-tier journals, proceedings, book chapters, in Italian, English, Spanish and French.

She is a member of the PhD Council for Pedagogical, Educational and Instructional Sciences.
She is the Erasmus Coordinator in the Area of Education and Instruction, for the School of Human and Social Sciences and Cultural Heritage, involving 12 universities in Spain.
She sat on the editorial board of the double-blind peer reviewed journal ‘Excellence and Innovation in Learning and Teaching, Research and practices', Franco Angeli (2020-2021) and in 2021 was managing editor of the same journal. Currently a member of the Scientific Board. She is on the Scientific Committee of the series of studies entitled "Pedagogia del Lavoro" (Pensa MultiMedia).
She reviews for top-tier academic journals (such as: Form@re, Scuola Democratica, Excellence and Innovation in Learning and Teaching, Lifelong, Lifewide Learning, Pedagogia oggi, Studium educationis, Quaderni di pedagogia della Scuola, Dirigenti Scuola, Nuova Secondaria) and for scientific journals (Foro de Educación, Research on Education and Media, Personae).
She is a member of the following Scientific Societies:
- SIPED (Italian Society for Educational Research), involved with two working groups: 1. Educational guidance and unease in urban areas, 2. Labour pedagogy. Skills and training for human development and the digital and ecological transition.

She has won the following awards:
- SIPED Award 2019 (Italian Pedagogy award),
- Extraordinary Doctoral Award 2018 - best doctoral dissertation, University of La Laguna (Spain)
- SIPCO Award 2013 – best poster.
