Presentation
Since my beginnings as a researcher in 2002, my research activity has been focused on the relationship between learning and new technologies, in particular on the processes of teaching innovation in schools and universities. This interest led me to work in the area of initial and continuous teacher training. Over the last ten years, I carried out training-research activities in over 250 educational institutions, from Primary School to University. From 2013 to 2018 I directed, at the University of Padua, the Post graduate Course "Flipped classroom: strategies and methodologies of teaching innovation with new media". From 2016 to 2020 I was a member of the scientific committee of DeAgostini Scuola. I have lectured in various courses activated by the University of Padua for teacher training, TFA, PAS, 24 CFU, as well as teaching in multiple university courses. In my teaching I have introduced significant elements of innovation by activating practices of social annotation, peer- and self-assessment, student-generated content, reciprocal peer teaching which I disseminated through training activities in other universities.
Many publications underlined this path, which eventually found a synthesis in 2016 with the volume "Flipped classroom: a new way of teaching and learning", with a preface by Tullio De Mauro, a volume that had a considerable spread in schools and has been adopted for teacher training in various Italian universities. I have participated in many national and international conferences organised by scientific societies (ATEE, AACE, ECEL, EARLI, HELMeTO, SIRD, SIPED, SIREM) and in the 2020 I was Scientific Director and Chair of the 7th Congress of the Collaborative Knowledge Building Group (CKBG): "From the Teaching Machine to Machine Learning". In the 2021 edition of the HELMeTO conference, I received the award for the best contribution with the paper Forget messy forums! Promoting content-anchored discussions in Higher Education with Perusall.
