Martina Calzavara is associate professor at the Department of Management and Engineering (DTG) of the University of Padua.
After her master degree in Management Engineering in 2010, she worked for two years as business process analyst at Benetton group S.p.A.
Subsequently, she started her Phd program at DTG, which ended in 2016 with a thesis titled "Innovative methods and models for warehouse picking systems design".
In October 2016 she became assistant professor at DTG, until November 2021, when she became associate professor.
She is currently teaching in various courses, lectures and workshops, at the University of Padua, and she is responsible of the course "Impianti meccanici" ("Industrial plants") at the third year of the bachelor course in Management Engineering (at DTG) and Mechanical Engineering (at DII).

Her research is mainly related to industrial and logistics systems design, management and modelling. In particular,this often focuses on the design and on the improvement of warehousing and assembly systems, through the mathematical modelling of both economic and ergonomics aspects.
She is author of many papers published in international scientific journals and conference proceedings.

She is usually also involved in practical interdisciplinary research projects with Italian and foreign research institutes and important Italian companies.
