On 8 January 2024, I became a Full Professor of Classical Archaeology (L-ANT/07) in the Cultural Heritage Department of the University of Padova.
Since 2023 I am vice-Director of Cultural Heritage Department.
Since 2023 I am Director of “Scuola di Specializzazione in Beni Archeologici”.
Since 2008, I have been a member of the teaching staff of the PhD programme in History, Criticism and Conservation of Cultural Heritage.
I direct two Erasmus exchange programmes with the University of Aix-Marseille (France) and the University of Rouen (France).
Since 2012, I have been a member of the Scientific Committee of the series Quaderni di Antenor (Cultural Heritage Department, University of Padova) and since 2017, I have been co-Director of the series Quaderni di Antenor.
Since 2024, I have been a member of the Scientific Committee of the ATTA review.
I am REVIEWER for “Atlante Tematico di Topografia Antica”, “Aquileia Nostra”, “Archeologia Veneta”, “Rivista di Scienze dell'Antichità”, “Rivista di Archeologia”, “Anales de Arqueología Cordobesa”, “Review of Textile Archaeology”, “(Con)testi”.
I have been a member of: CIBA - Centro Interdipartimentale Beni Culturali; HIT - Human Inspired Technology research centre; CISA – International Center for Adriatic Studies.
Since 01/11/2018 to 30/11/2018 and since 01/04/2019 to 30/04/2019, I have been Visiting Scholar at the Cambridge University - Mc Donald Institute for Archaeological research.

1. TEACHING ACTIVITIES

Since 2006, I have taught “Roman Archaeology” in the Undergraduate Degree programmes in Archaeology, in Literature and in History & Protection of Cultural Heritage.
Since 2009, I have taught “Roman Archaeology” in the Suola di Specializzazione in Beni Archeologici.
Since 2013 I taught in the Master programme in Archaeological Sciences “Production and trade in classical word”.
Additionally since 2014 I have run lab/workshop classes on “Roman materials”.
Between 2006 and 2019 I was supervisor for around 100 Degree theses (Undergraduate and Master), 10 “Scuola di Specializzazione” theses and 7 PhD theses.

2. RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

Most of my research activity is focused on Roman archaeology. My work ranges from theoretical analyses of various archaeo-historical issues through the coordination of research projects to the management and organisation of fieldwork (both excavation and survey), with a focus on settlement, architectural and economic issues. My research is characterised by an interdisciplinary approach involving collaboration with specialists from various fields, by the application of new methodologies and technologies in the conduct and presentation of research and by the development of a broad network of research collaborations with Italian and foreign researchers and institutions.
This research has, to date, resulted in around 140 publications including 3 monographs, 9 edited volumes and numerous specialised studies and excavation reports. I have participated in over 75 national and international conferences in Italy and abroad and I have organised many workshops, conferences and summer schools.
