He obtained an M.Sc in Work and Organizational Psychology (1999), a post-lauream Specialization degree in Psychological Testing (2000), and a PhD in Social and Personality Psychology at the University of Padua (2005). Furthermore, he obtained a post-lauream Master's degree in Personnel Management from the University of Castellanza - LIUC (2002). He spent periods of study and research at the University of Rotterdam (NL) and the University of Bergen (NO).
Research Fellow (2006-2010) and Assistant professor (2011) in Social psychology at the FISPPA Department (Academic discipline: PSIC-03/A; Academic recruitment field: 11/E3 - Social, Work and Organizational Psychology), since 2015 he has been an Associate professor. In 2017 he obtained the National Scientific Habilitation (ASN) for full professorship.
Since 2005 he has been teaching Social Psychology, Computer Skills, Psychosocial Research Methodology, Multivariate Correlational Techniques in Psychosocial Research, and Testing Theories and Techniques.
He was a member of the Faculty and the Board of Directors of the Doctoral School in Psychological Sciences of the University of Padua (2017-2020). Since 2022 he has been part of the Faculty of the Doctoral School in Social Sciences of the University of Padua.
From 2021 to 2024 he directed the 'Polo Multifunzionale di Psicologia' (Multifunctional hub of Psychology; https://polo.psicologia.unipd.it/).
He is a member of the Editorial Committee of 'Psicologia Sociale' and 'Giornale Italiano di Psicologia' (Il Mulino, Bologna). He regularly acts as a reviewer for national and international scientific journals, such as European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology; International Journal of Nursing Studies; Journal of Applied Social Psychology; Journal of Community & Applied Social Psychology; Journal of Economic Psychology; Leadership; Psicologia Sociale; Giornale Italiano di Psicologia; Ricerche di Psicologia; Bollettino di Psicologia Applicata; The International Journal of Human Resource Management.
He is a Full member of AIP - Italian Association of Psychology (www.aipass.org), and a member of the International Society of Political Psychology (https://ispp.org/).
His main research interests include (a) Modern theories of Leadership, e.g. Constructive-Destructive Leadership, Servant Leadership, Empowering Leadership, and Social Identity Theory of Leadership. Psychosocial measurement, correlates and applications in organizational contexts; (b) Construction/adaptation of measurement instruments for psychosocial research and testing, particularly in following domains: leadership, power management, empowerment, resistance to social and organizational change, social desirability; (c) Attitudes, emotions and behaviors oriented towards sustainability, inclusion, social justice, organizational and work well-being and family-work conciliation; (d) Psychology of collecting; (e) History of experimental and applied psychology at the University of Padua.
