Born in Carrara (1981), I am currently Associate Professor of Economic History at Università degli Studi di Padova (DISSGEA), Italy, after having been Rita Levi Montalcini excellence programme fellow. I hold a double PhD in economic history from Paris-Sorbonne University and from Florence University, obtained through a cotutelle thesis project.
After the thesis, I worked as post-doc researcher and lecturer in several universities, including Paris-Sorbonne, Panthéon-Sorbonne, Aix-Marseille, Ecole des Mines de Saint-Etienne and Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM). I also serve as visiting professor and researcher at the Shanghai Normal University (College of Business and Finance).
I extensively worked on the history of trade, of cartels, of multinationals, of innovation and of firms organization and my publications include a research monograph about the international aluminium cartel with Routledge and several articles and chapters. For my Montalcini grant, I have worked on the history of futures trading and of the financialization of commodity trade in the 20th century: http://www.dissgea.unipd.it/back-futures-economics. Recently, I am developing a research programme about a comparative history of the autarkic and import substitution policies
