Guido Bartorelli is an Associate Professor of History of Contemporary Art at the University of Padua (Italy). He gained his PhD at the University of Bologna (supervisor Prof. Renato Barilli).
He deals with historical avant-gardes, on which he published the books Numeri innamorati. Sintesi e dinamiche del Secondo Futurismo (Turin, 2001) and Fernand Léger cubista 1909-1914 (Padua, 20112).
Artist-film and video-art are the topics of the book Studi sull’immagine in movimento. Dalle avanguardie a YouTube (Padova, 2021).
He dedicated exhibitions to the most recent artistic trends, such as ArtBeat. Arte Narrativa Videoclip (with Fabriano Fabbri, Bologna-Milan-Rome, 1999-2000) and Art//Tube. L’arte alla prova della creatività amatoriale (Padua, 2010).
For Palazzo Pretorio Foundation in Cittadella (Padua) he curated exhibitions such as Alberto Biasi: gli ambienti (2016), Bruno Munari: aria | terra (2017), Sirio Luginbühl: film sperimentali (with Lisa Parolo, 2018).
