Area di ricerca

Aspetti fisiologici e molecolari dell’interazione pianta-patogeno, in particolare: caratterizzazione e ruolo nell’infezione degli enzimi degradativi della parete vegetale prodotti da funghi patogeni e simbionti; interazione tra enzimi degradativi e i loro inibitori; induzione e ruolo delle fitoalessine nella difesa attiva delle piante e capacità dei patogeni di detossificarle, fattori di virulenza di funghi necrotrofi (spec. Fusarium spp., Sclerotinia, Botrytis) e comportamento di tali funghi in piante sovra esprimenti meccanismi di difesa. Identificazione e attività di molecole naturali estratte da piante contro organismi fitopatogeni.
