The University of Padua has received significant recognition from the European Commission as part of the Horizon Europe call, Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships 2024.
With 22 funded projects totalling almost 6 million euros, the University confirms itself as a centre of excellence for international research. Additionally, another 5 projects are on the reserve list and could receive funding at a later stage.
The Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships support the training and career development of researchers, promoting international and interdisciplinary mobility. These projects, which will last between 12 and 36 months, contribute to improving the lives of European citizens through scientific and technological innovations.
The Vice-Rector for Research, Fabio Zwirner, highlighted the University of Padua's commitment to supporting young researchers and announced that the University will offer alternative funding through the MSCA Seal of Excellence@Unipd call for high-quality projects not funded due to budget constraints.
Since 2014, 159 post-doctoral scholars have chosen the University of Padua for their Marie Sklodowska-Curie projects, underlining the University's attractiveness. The University also organises the "MaRaThon@Unipd," a training event for candidates applying for the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships.
Furthermore, the 41 projects that obtained a high score but were not funded will receive the "Seal of Excellence – MSCActions" from the European Commission and may benefit from alternative funding of 50,000 euros per year through the University of Padua.
The opening of the next Horizon Europe call for the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships is scheduled for 9 April 2025.

Italian version
