The Ottocento – Gli approfondimenti storici is an editorial production of the University of Padua, created, with a documentary and a podcast available on all free platforms, to celebrate the eighth centenary of the foundation that the University on 2022.

From September 19 to 26 2022, the University of Padua retraced the same journey on foot taken by the students who, in 1222, left Bologna in search of greater freedom of study in Padua, which led to the founding of University of Padua.
During the 161 km walk, in eight stages, Unipd students discussed on 8 different themes, linked, according to historical sources, to the life of the students who 800 years ago made the same trip.
The same themes are discussed in the eight short videos of the Ottocento – approfondimenti storici (the Historical insights) series, available from Tuesday 1 August on the YouTube channel of the University of Padua. The videos, with English subtitles, will be published one a week until September 19, the day that marked last year the beginning of the journey.
With the participation of Amedeo Gheller, as narrator, and the direction of Uber Mancin - Bacofilm, the eight videos explore from an historical point of view, themes such as freedom, violence, sex, gambling, travel, food, music, and faith.
