UniRe - Seven Principles for Non-Violent and Non-Discriminatory Behavior
Against gender-based violence and all forms of discrimination, we believe that everyone must do their part, committing themselves personally.
The seven principles that we invite you to uphold and spread are a commitment to promote greater awareness on these issues and to reach, with our message, more and more people.
- Words and Actions Have Consequences
I am responsible for what I say and do
- Silence is not always a choice of neutrality
Sometimes silence is complicit
- No one belongs to me
Each person belongs only to himself
- Power is a responsibility, not a weapon
I do not use my position as an instrument of oppression or imposition of my will to harm the dignity of others
- I observe the impact of stereotypes on my behaviors
Does what I think of a person come from concrete experience or from prejudice?
- Diversity is an asset for all people
Diversity is not a source of shame or weakness
- I stop to think of an event even when I am not directly responsible for it
The fault is individual, the responsibility is collective
On the occasion of November 25, 2024, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the "I see, I hear, I speak" campaign is extended to the city, sharing the message of the UniRe project with citizens. In this second launch of the campaign, we have developed a communication action linked to personal commitment, drawing up the 7 principles to put into practice, every day, a non-violent and non-discriminatory behavior.
Share the principles on your social channels, together or individually. Enrich them, if you wish, with your personal reflections. On this page we have already set up creatives for easy and immediate sharing in your posts and stories.
In doing so, we remind you to tag the official channels of the University of Padova:
