Rector Daniela Mapelli welcomes students who, after graduating, have chosen the University of Padua for their university studies.
The event, opened by greetings from the rector and the vice mayor Andrea Micalizzi, shares the study, research, and life experiences of some key figures in our academic community through their testimonies.
The meeting is hosted by Gioia Lovison and Pietro Osti, who engage with the guests:
Francesco Fasano
Researcher and professor of Hispanic American literature at the University of Padua, in the Department of Linguistic and Literary Studies. Francesco graduated in Medicine and Surgery, in Anthropology, and holds a PhD in Philological and Literary Linguistic Sciences; the main areas of his research are the study of the cultural representation of illness and decolonial, posthuman, and ecocritical studies applied to contemporary fantastic literature from the Global South.
Gabriela Skrauce
International student iattending the third year of the Italian Medieval and Renaissance Studies programme.
Following the meeting, there will be a dance performance by artist Giacomo De Luca, titled ((MO!)), a solo performance accompanied by music and video projections curated by the artist.
Participation in Unincontro is by invitation only and reserved for Unipd freshmen (as per the reserved email communication).
After the meeting and the performance, freshmen are also invited to participate, starting at around 7.30 PM, in The Academy Night 2025, an evening with the DJ set by Empty Ef dedicated to all Unipd students, again at the Beato Pellegrino complex.
A free aperitif is reserved for all Unipd freshmen who participate.
The welcome initiatives for freshmen continue in each degree course throughout the month of October, according to the "Università Porte Aperte" calendar.
