Basic Course and New Faculty (T4L1)
The T4L course Base and New Faculty (T4L1) is structured into specific meetings for a total of 24 hours:
- 4 afternoon hours in person at the CLA (Via Venezia, 16, Padua)
- 4 afternoon hours: synchronous online on Zoom (English version) or in person (Italian version)
- 8 + 4 hours at an off-site location
- 4 hours of asynchronous self-study in Moodle to be completed over the course of two weeks
They are delivered in English or Italian and are scheduled throughout the current academic year.
It is recommended to enrol in the English course if your level of language proficiency is advanced.
Course contents:
- analysis and reflection on your own teaching and learning perspectives
- theoretical perspective of Active Learning
- Active Learning teaching strategies to promote student engagement
- lecturer-student relationship
- micro-design of lessons using participatory methods
- feedback (among lecturers; between students and lecturers) and assessment of learning
- design of a micro-lesson (microteaching)
- integration of technologies in teaching
- video lesson through different video and audio formats
- management of the Moodle space for synchronous and asynchronous communication, as well as for assessment and self-assessment
Who is it for?
Full and associate professors, permanent researchers, RTDA, RTDB, RTT at the University of Padua.
The course New Faculty and Base is mandatory for RTDA, RTDB and RTT researchers recruited from 1 September 2022 and must be completed within 18 months of the recruitment date.
Follow-up
Six months after the conclusion of the T4L1 course, an afternoon follow-up meeting (follow-up) is scheduled to share experiences and the implementation in one’s own teaching of what was learnt during the T4L course.
