Basic Course and New Faculty (T4L1)
The T4L Base and New Faculty course (T4L1) is structured into specific sessions for a total of 24 hours:
- 4 afternoon hours in person at the CLA (Via Venezia, 16, Padua)
- 4 afternoon hours: synchronous online on Zoom (eng version) or in person (ita version)
- 8 + 4 hours off-site
- 4 hours of asynchronous self-study on Moodle to be completed over a two-week period
It is delivered in English or Italian and is scheduled throughout the current academic year.
It is recommended to enrol on the course in English if your level of language proficiency is advanced.
Course contents:
- analysis and reflection on your own teaching and learning perspectives
- theoretical perspective of Active Learning
- Active Learning teaching strategies to promote student engagement
- lecturer-student relationship
- micro-design of lessons using participatory methods
- feedback (among lecturers; between students and lecturers) and assessment of learning
- design of a micro-lesson (microteaching)
- integration of technologies into teaching
- video lesson through different video and audio formats
- management of the Moodle space for synchronous and asynchronous communication, as well as for assessment and self-assessment
Who is it for?
Full and associate professors, permanent researchers, RTDA, RTDB, RTT at the University of Padua.
The New Faculty and Base course is mandatory for RTDA, RTDB and RTT researchers appointed from 1 September 2022 onwards and must be completed within 18 months of the date of appointment.
Follow-up
Six months after the conclusion of the T4L1 course, one afternoon follow-up session (follow-up) is planned to share experiences and the application in one’s own teaching of what was learnt during the T4L course.
Open Badge
At the end of the programme, the T4L1 Open Badge is awarded.
