Services

It allows the recognition, for pension purposes, of periods or service not covered by compulsory social security contributions (the legal duration of university studies, special advanced or specialisation courses, periods provided for by specific legal provisions...).

The redemption application must be submitted online:

In the event of retirement due to age limits, the application must be submitted at least two years before the expected termination of service; if the employee requests to remain in service, the application is considered to have been submitted in due time if it is submitted within two years of the actual termination.

If, on the other hand, termination of service takes place for other reasons, the application must be submitted, on pain of forfeiture, within 90 days of notification of the termination measure.

 In the event of the employee's death while in service, the office responsible for settling the pension contacts the heirs  for the calculation of service and periods; they may submit an application within the mandatory time limit of 90 days from receipt of the office's notice.

The following periods and services may be redeemed, with the cost borne by the person concerned:

  • service performed as a non-established State employee without registration with INPS;
  • legal duration of university courses (from 12/7/97 also if not required for the position held):
