Publish
The Regulations for publications govern the printing, sale and distribution of books, periodicals, lecture notes, research, original works and any other writing, for the publication, reproduction or marketing of which funds from the budget of the University of Padua or from the budget of structures of the University of Padua are used.
Professors and employees of the University of Padova, graduates holding scholarships or grants of any kind at the University of Padova, graduates enrolled in a PhD course of which the University of Padova is an administrative or consortium campus, research collaborators coordinated by a lecturer of the University can be authors of these publications.
At least two copies of each publication must be kept by the university structures that have financed them with funds entered in their budgets.
Among the various types of publishing contracts envisaged, the Regulations require that the use of funds from the Contributions for the improvement of teaching and student services is allowed only for the publication of texts with predominantly educational purposes and for the purpose of containing the purchase price. The author or authors must transfer the proceeds of their rights to the University of Padova, which thus becomes the only person entitled to exploitation.
The University of Padova also carries out its own publishing activity through the "Padova University Press", which pursues objectives of sharing and disseminating scientific knowledge, with particular attention to the results of research carried out within the University of Padua.
The publishing activity of Padova University Press concerns the creation of monographs, conference proceedings, periodicals, databases and multimedia products. Requests for publication must come from the author (for monographs and other works), the editor (for conference proceedings) or the editor of the journal (for periodicals). Applicants send their requests to the Technical Secretariat using special forms available on the website, in which they describe the characteristics of the work they request to be published.
Finally, the University of Padova promotes open access to scientific literature, through adherence to the Open Access movement.
