Massimiliano Zattin

Born in Padova on September 10, 1970.

Graduated in 1995 in Geological Sciences at the University of Padova, he obtained the title of Doctor in Earth Sciences at the University of Bologna in 1999. At this University he was a research fellow until 2005 when he took up service as Full Professor (areas GEO/02). In 2008 he moved to the University of Padova where he has been Full Professor since 2015.

He is the author of over one hundred publications in international scientific journals, produced in collaboration with various Italian research groups and important foreign institutions including Yale University, Université Paris-Saclay, ETH Zurich, University of Arizona, China University of Geoscience, Istanbul Polytechnic. He has been responsible for projects funded by national and international agencies (e.g. PRIN, PNRA, NSF, UNESCO) and collaborations with companies (e.g. ENI). In 2020 he was the winner of the "High-Level Talent Program" selection in collaboration with Northwest University in Xi'an. The research activity is accompanied by an intense activity of organization of seminars, workshops and congresses, both at Italian and international level. He is currently a member of the International Standing Committee on Thermochronology.

From 2018 to 2021 he was a member of the commission for the National Scientific Qualification and reviewer for ANVUR of PON projects. He has held various positions at the University of Padova including: member of the University Commission for the distribution of PhD scholarships (2016-2021), member of the Academic Senate (2015-2019), member of the China networking group (2018-2021), Advisor for sports activities of the Delegate for Sport and Wellness (2018-2021), member of the Council of the School of Sciences (2013-2015), director of the Doctoral School in Earth Sciences (2012-2015).
